We’re Expanding Our Patent Group
Aug. 12, 2010
We have strengthened and expanded our Patent Group.
Anastasia Zhadina has been elected as a shareholder of CLL, effective August 1, 2010. Ana was awarded her BS degree in Chemistry by SUNY Stony Brook, and her JD degree by Brooklyn Law School. She began her patent law career at Robin, Blecker & Daley, which merged with Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman in 2004. In addition to her experience on the patentability, prosecution and enforcement of patents in the U.S. and abroad, she also has handled trademark prosecution, and the enforcement of domain name rights, has taught classes on patent law, and has co-written a part of a treatise on patent law.
We also hired a new associate, Yelena Morozova. Yelena was awarded her BS and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics by Moscow State University, and her JD and LLM degrees, magna cum laude, by Franklin Pierce Law Center. She previously served as a Judicial Clerk Intern for the Honorable Jeffrey R. Howard (U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit) and worked on patent matters at Patterson & Sheridan and Wall & Tong. Last year, we hired Steven D. Underwood, who has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, and previously worked in the patent groups at Pennie & Edmonds and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
The scientific and technical backgrounds of members of our Patent Group include electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer hardware and software, and materials science. The group concentrates on inventions that are computer and software related, electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical, optical and digital, as well as business methods and designs. When appropriate, the Patent Group works with the CLL Litigation Group to enforce and defend patent and trade secret infringement claims.
