CLL makes available its chapter on Intellectual Property published by PLI

By Robert Clarida

Apr. 14, 2004

Three partners of Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman, Mark Montague (Patents), Midge M. Hyman (Trademarks) and Robert W. Clarida (Copyrights), collectively prepared Chapter 3 entitled 'Intellectual Property and Technology Companies' for the Practising Law Institute's recent publication Advising High Technology Companies. CLL was selected by PLI to prepare the intellectual property law chapter of the book, which is intended to be used as a reference tool by in-house counsel of high-technology-type companies. As stated in the Preface of the book, the volume is intended to reach topics applicable to all technology-based businesses, not just companies that conduct businesses predominantly on the Internet.

In addition to the 81-page intellectual property chapter prepared by CLL, the PLI volume includes chapters on organizing a high-technology start-up, finance, forming a Board of Directors, technology licensing, issues pertinent to emerging life sciences, entertainment content, equity compensation, SEC reporting, privacy, online contracting, taxation, and others.

If you would like to receive from CLL a courtesy copy of chapter 3, contact Ingrid H. Kangur at 212-790-9264 or send an e-mail to ihk@cll.com. The complete book may be ordered from the Practising Law Institute.
