Our first Copyright Program, entitled “Recent Developments in ©opyright Law' received an overwhelming response. Accordingly, we held an encore presentation on December 1, 2009. We had over 40 guests.

At the Encore Presentation, our attorneys Robert W. Clarida and Thomas Kjellberg explored the most newsworthy and cutting-edge copyright decisions of the past year, including Salinger v. Colting (involving a recent novel based on The Catcher in the Rye), CNN v. CSC Holding (involving digital performances), and fair use rulings involving “The Family Guy” parody of “When you Wish upon a Star,” sculptures depicted on a postage stamp, 1960s monster-magazine art, and the Fairey v. AP case (involving the Obama “Hope” poster). The program was fast-paced, funny, incredibly informative, and packed with audio and video examples.
