Attendees will be asked to name the songs, while John Miranda and fellow CLL attorney Paige Geier and CLL alum Aryn Emert, Vice President, Senior Counsel (Paramount Skydance Corporation) explain how the featured music relates to key intellectual property concepts. CLL partner Kieran Doyle will MC the event.
Attendees will learn about:

- The USPTO trademark registration and examination process
- The factors that go into a trademark likelihood of confusion determination
- How rights owners can protect their name, image, likeness and legacy
The event will be held on Thursday, November 19 at The Bitter End, 147 Bleecker Street, New York NY ( between LaGuardia and Thompson) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a networking/social hour.
In addition to earning CLE credit and enjoying a unique musical experience, for each attorney who attends the program, CLL will donate $20 to Steven Van Zandt’s Rock and Soul Forever Foundation as part of CLL's CLE4GOOD initiative. Founded by Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, the Rock and Soul Forever Foundation’s TeachRock project provides rich multimedia educational resources to teachers and students free of charge. Through music-centered lesson plans and classroom materials, available at www.teachrock.org, TeachRock helps educators connect popular music history to subjects ranging from social studies and language arts to science, media studies, and general music. The Foundation’s Board includes Steven Van Zandt, Jackson Browne, Martin Scorsese, Bono and Bruce Springsteen.
CLL will also auction a Fender guitar signed by Steven Van Zandt, guitarist of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, frontman of Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul, and star of The Sopranos. Attendees can additionally participate in a name-that-tune competition for the chance to win a JBL Bluetooth speaker.
Join us for an engaging evening of intellectual property education, live music, networking, and philanthropy as we explore the challenges and opportunities of protecting brands and creative works in the digital millennium.
