CLL and Sukin Law Group Complete Notable Music Business Deal

Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman and Sukin Law Group represented Francis Dreyfus Music, a leading French music publishing and recording company, in connection with the sale of its music publishing business to BMG Rights Management.  

The publishing assets of Francis Dreyfus Music, which was founded in 1970 by Francis Dreyfus, include The Dreyfus catalogue, and the publishing and master rights of iconic French artists such as Christophe, whose classic songs include “Les mots bleus,” “Aline,” “Succes fou,” “Les Paradis Perdus,” and Jean-Michel Jarre, whose albums include “Oxygène,” “Équinoxe” and “Chants Magnétiques.”  

The sale also included original soundtracks composed by Philippe Sarde, Francis Lai, François de Roubaix and Jean-Michel Jarre, TV themes like “PJ,” written by Richard Galliano, “Le manège enchanté” and the cult French theme song of the “Dallas” series.
