09.14.2023

Joel Karni Schmidt, John Miranda, and Theodora Fleurant are attending the Copyright Society‘s 2023 Copyright + Technology Conference, which is taking place at Fordham University Law School in New York City on September 14, 2023.

Our firm and attorneys, including Jonathan King, Thomas Kjellberg, and others have been advising clients on cutting edge issues relating to copyright and technology, including the impact of artificial intelligence on intellectual property rights.

We also have been active members of the Copyright Society for many years.  Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman Co-Founder Alan Latman (who was an outstanding lawyer, renowned professor of law at NYU law school, and distinguished scholar) was the longtime Executive Director of the Copyright Society, and several of our present and past attorneys were Presidents of the Copyright Society, including Richard Dannay, Morton David Goldberg, David Goldberg, and Robert J. Bernstein.  Thomas Kjellberg is a past Trustee of the Society and for many years has been the chief author together with Joelle Milov of the Annual Review of Copyright Decisions published each year in the Journal of the Copyright Society.  Thomas is also a member of the Society’s house band, Crude Humble & Obvious, which performed last night at Connolly's Klub 45 in Times Square.
