Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman partner Robert English is attending the 2026 MARQUES Annual Conference in Lisbon, Portugal from September 22-25. At this year's Annual Conference, the core focus will be on how trademarks are changing and how businesses are using their IP in fresh ways to gain consumer trust. The agenda features deep dives into brand genericism, IP value creation, regulatory changes, and the Digital Product Passport, as well as the interplay between geographical indications and trade. Attendees will also hear about the latest operational updates from the EUIPO and recent landmark CJEU and General Court decisions.
Bob's practice focuses on domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement matters. He has represented clients in the craft beer, apparel, musical instrument, software, advertising, beauty, art and entertainment industries. Bob has experience representing clients in connection with a variety of intellectual property-related transactional matters, including licensing, asset purchase and joint development agreements. Bob also practices before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and has litigated trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition matters.
